Thanks for checking out our community groups. It is our desire as a community of believers in Jesus Christ to welcome you with open arms. We offer a variety of classes for a variety of ages. Please browse around, and if you find a class that may best suit your particular needs, we urge you to visit the class on Sunday.
Beacon Class
Teacher: Mel Bowdan
Purpose: Bible study for the purpose of learning to be a servant and a witness. There is a strong emphasis on understanding the Scripture and having a great deal of discussion and sharing of ideas and experiences.
Bible Study Class
Teacher: Bob Moore
Purpose: We study the Bible, book by book. Our purpose is to grasp the full message of God through a given book or letter. We use informal sharing by the teacher with discussion.
Builder's Class
Teacher: Sheila Lovell
Purpose: Adult Bible study, intercessory prayer and missionary support class is named after the "Builder's" Generation (WWII Young Adults). Many are from Wesley Village, retired pastoral couples or missionaries and seminary faculty (and spouses).
Community Class
Teacher: Steve Dawson
Purpose: Engaging with Scripture with end goal of transformation. Our class is open to anyone. We have a strong sense of community. The class is a mixture of prayer time and Bible study, with a healthy dose of laughter. We go through books of the Bible in a mixture of teaching and discussion. The approach is one of discovery rather than lecture, seeking to be formed by the Bible in a way that becomes real in our lives. Visitors are always welcome!
Couples in Covenant
Teacher: Ben & Melissa Butler
Purpose: Our class focuses on strengthening relationships in the family especially the marriage and in the community. We share our lives of faith through support, accountability, prayer, devotion, and discipleship. The class is a mix of teaching and discussion with a strong emphasis on fellowship.
Covenant Class
Teacher: David Brabon
Room: Annex Building (White building adjacent to the church parking lot.
Purpose: Study books of the Bible with discussion as a class.
Grace Connexions
Teacher: John Jording
Purpose: We exist to provide an arena for college age people to grow in relationship with one another and with God as they study scripture, pray and serve together. Our class is intentional about relationship building in the context of living the Christian life. We are loving, honest, and accepting of one another and new members.
Koinonia
Teacher: Owen Dickens
Purpose: We study the Bible striving to understand the text in its original setting and we try to grapple with the underlying theology and apply it to our lives today. We try to be a community that studies Scripture together and support one another through the ups and downs of life.
True Story
Teacher: Steve & Sherry Peyton
Purpose: To explore a narratival way of approaching the biblical text with a mix of teaching and discussion. We engage the whole story of God from Genesis to Revelation, and to actively work out how we inhabit that story. We not only study the Word but we also go out and engage the poor and needy.
